The tuition fee has to be paid during the first session of each month in advance.

There will be 4 or 5 classes per month--1 class per week in general. If half-day prior notice of absence is given to the teacher, a make-up class within the month will be granted upon the teacher's  LIMITED availability. Absence without prior notice is chargeable and will not be granted any make-up class.

Tuition fee does not include any other fees such as examination fee, books, etc.

There will be class even on holidays and bad weather. If students prefer not to come to class, at least half-day prior notice of absence has to be given to the teacher for class make-up within the month. Again, availability for class make-up depends on teacher is very limited, if both parties cannot agree with a date/time, the missed lesson will be forfeited and counted 'absent'. Students with more than 8 absents in a year may be dismissed.

The student has to practice in a daily basis and to complete all the assignments (practical or written) assigned by the teacher every week. The teacher has the right to dismiss the class if the student did not practice the assigned pieces, no class will be compensated thereafter.

Miss Betty manages to teach up to 10 students at a time in order to maintain the highest teaching quality and standard; students are expected to strive for their best performance during examinations and competitions. Students are expected to actively attend the students' concert (usually in late August) and either take the ABRSM/Trinity examination or attend a major music competition every other year as part of the learning curriculum.

Time management, priority / goal setting and philosophical thinkings are also part of the teaching curriculum, if the parents / students do not share the same teaching philosophy with Miss Betty and her holistic teaching approach, please consider taking classes some place else.

According to the teacher's experience in the past 2.5 decades, students who committed in less than 44 lessons in a year had significant drop of performance. Thus, students who missed 8 lessons or more annually is highly advised to free up his/her space for others who can benifit more from learnng music with Miss Betty.

Students who cannot afford the tuition fee but have shown extraordinary talent in music with the right learning attitude, please feel free to contact Miss Betty for an audition. Exemption of tuition fee (partial / full) will be granted for successful applicants.
